What is it?
An electroencephalogram (EEG) records the electrical activity of the brain using small sensors placed on the scalp. It is used, for example, to study certain seizures or brain conditions.

The test is painless and usually takes 20 to 40 minutes; you need to lie still and stay calm. Clean hair is advised, and the doctor explains the results later.
